Many people underestimate the value of a structured and consistent training program for dogs of all ages, whether they be 8 week puppies purchased from a reputable breeder or an 8 year old dog adopted from a rescue organization or the SPCA.

A basic obedience program of sit, down, stay, come when called, don’t pull on the leash will teach your dog that you have expectations for him and that it will be hugely rewarding for him to do things for you. A positive reinforcement method in the way of yummy treats and lavish praise for cooperation will get your dog well on the road to learning to work with you and this will pay off when you want to add house rules such as doing his business in a particular spot in your yard or staying off the furniture or sitting nicely to say hello to guests instead of leaping joyfully in their faces.

Once your dog knows exactly what you want him to do, he will be delighted to please you and you will have the companion dog of your dreams!

Consultations and training programs are done in your home at your convenience. Hours are flexible. Occasionally, there is an additional fee for traveling time.

Fees: $75.00 for a single consultation which is usually approximately 75-90 minutes. Available for evaluation of a dog’s/family’s needs as well as solving specific behavioural problems such as barking, nipping, chewing, pulling on leash, etc.

Training Programs: $275.00 for 4 sessions, 75 minutes each. Programs are designed to teach comprehensive basic obedience skills as well as addressing specific behaviour issues. Ideally all family members should be available for the training sessions. Children are very welcome to participate. Homework and information sheets are provided.
